| Self Tapping Screws |
| There are two basic
types V AB (Pointed) and B (Blunt). Type AB is ideal
for joining thin sheet steel and is used extensively in
spring nut and clip applications. It can also be used,
but not recommended for, pliable plastics, high impact
plastics, resin bonded plywood and aluminum die castings.
Type B has the same thread form but, with its tapered
pilot lead, is designed for use in heavier gauge sheet
steel and structural steel sections. It gives optimum
thread engagement in blind hole applications
and is ideal for pliable plastic and non-ferrous zinc
and aluminum die-castings. |
